The feel of the resulting LP, North, is encapsulated by the Band's name; dark, brooding and moody, like some modern day science fiction soundtrack, rendering images of black-holes, spacecraft set adrift in vast space and exploding supernovas.
Those influences, listened to for months on end before the albums creation are plain to hear. One part Eno, two parts Radiohead, a large dash of Burial and a generous sprinkling of Moroder to create an intoxicating blend of electronica that will appeal as much to the daytime radio playlist as to the dancefloor.
This is one Darkstar that certainly burns brightly.
